Traffic cops seize £250,000 Lamborghini

The driver of a £250,000 supercar was left standing by the side of the road after it was seized by police in Warwickshire. Traffic cops who pulled over the 217mph Lamborghini Aventador in Kenilworth town centre found that his licence had been revoked.

The driver, a man in his mid-30s, was summoned to appear in court at a later date. The question of whether he was driving with no insurance is still being investigated. He was left to make his own way home after a large crowd had gathered to watch.

Officers also discovered there were outstanding finance payments on the 6.5-litre V12 car – one of only 4,000 ever built – and which can do 0-60mph in under three seconds. It will now be sold at auction to pay off the finance company.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather and singers Justin Bieber and Kanye West and are among some of the car’s celebrity owners. Pc Richard Prior, of Warwickshire Police’s Operational Patrol Unit, said: “I’ve pulled over a Bentley Continental before, but this tops it.”

Pc Prior and a colleague were on routine patrol on Wednesday afternoon when their marked car’s ‘automatic number plate recognition’ system (ANPR) flagged up the Lamborghini.

“We saw him on the main road through Kenilworth and stopped him outsideKenilworth Castle,” said the officer. He pulled over straightaway. He got out and was very pleasant, very co-operative. He explained the car was not his. Said he had borrowed it.

“Our investigations showed his driving licence had been revoked by the DVLA. He said he didn’t know anything about it, but was unsurprisingly fine about it because it wasn’t his car.” Pc Prior added: “There was a joke about who would drive it back, but we got a professional recovery company to take it to a compound in Leamington.”

Driving licences can be revoked for medical reasons or for failing to keep personal details up-to-date.

VIDEO: Angry Man Throws Stones at Lamborghini Aventador

This video supposedly shows a dad who got sick of a $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador racing up and down his street and decided to take matters into his own hands. And by “matters,” we mean rocks, which he threw at it.

An outraged dad hit back at a Lamborghini driver who was apparently speeding his $400,000 Aventador supercar up and down a suburban road.

The altercation was filmed and uploaded to YouTube. The comment on the clip says the fed-up man finally “took justice – and a rock – into his own hands.”

First, he blocks the black and yellow vehicle, threatening to throw a large stone. When the Lambo zips around him, the man makes good on his warning – smashing one of the car’s windows.

The person who uploaded the video originally hasn’t responded to a request for more details about the incident, but only around 2,500 of these supercars have been made since Lamborghini debuted them in 2011.

The Lamborghini Inspired Super Yacht

The Lamborghini Inspired Super Yacht

A Lamborghini-inspired speedboat is being described as the apex of nautical engineering. The 15-metre sleek, innovative, gutsy vessel carries a $1.1 million price tag and is owned by rags-to-riches mogul Gino Gargiulo.

The styling is inspired by the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 anniversary model and the rest of the design also resembles the Aventador, while its interior is the epitome of luxury.

The supercar yacht was created by Marine Technology Inc. (MTI), who brought it to life by drawing up designs that take the most iconic features of the luxury automobile and transferring them to a working boat, capable of traveling 300 kilometres per hour.

Speedboats like this are an interesting sub-category of yachts. The immense power of the boat limits the number of people who could own one because owners would have to be thoroughly trained in order to safely operate it. Not to mention the price tag.

From the driver’s seat and the plush leather interior could easily be mistaken for the car, which is the intention. The distinctive yellow paintwork is also identical, and seeing the two super vehicles together is a breathtaking sight.

This is becoming a bit of a trend, with other supercar inspired yachts emerging all the time. If you could have your own, which supercar would you model yours on?

Shoppers Admire Gold Plated Lamborghini In Beijing Mall

This image has been circulated the web after The Telegraph posted it as a ‘Picture of the Day’. We think it has attracted so much attention because it’s such a random place to put a Lamborghini Gallardo, unless it’s part of a competition (in which case, we’ll have an entry form please).

There seems to be a trend for gold Lamborghinis. The last time we saw one was when an Aventador went to auction last year with a starting bid of $7.5 million making it the world’s most expensive car. Carved out of a 500-kilogram block of solid gold, the finished model contained 25 kilograms of the precious metal.

Although not made for the road, it was sold with three entries in the Guinness Book of World Records, including the most expensive model car, the most secure showcase (featuring bulletproof glass) and the most luxurious logo.

The car was also a full-sized beast under the hood with a V12 engine capable of producing 700 bhp. With that, drives can go from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Check out this video:
