Carpenter makes Lamborghini style super car entirely out of Wood

A Lamborghini-loving carpenter realised he was never going to have the cash to buy a £260,000 supercar – so he made one out of WOOD.

Super car fan Yu Jietao stripped the body off an electric car then redesigned it using hand-carved rosewood.

And after he hit the road in China’s Jiangxi province, he quickly attracted media attention – and numerous offers to buy the car.

He said: “One person offered me what I would consider to be a small fortune, and more than enough to buy a real hot rod but I decided I don’t want to sell it.

“My wife really loves it as well and so we decided to keep it.”

Police have warned that technically it isn’t licensed because it was not made by an approved car manufacturer.

But that has not deterred Yu, 26, who is planning to challenge the wooden supercardecision.

He said: “I didn’t really copy any car when I made it but I guess I wanted a sort of Lamborghini feel about it.

“It is a topless roadster so isn’t suitable for all weathers, and has beetle-wing doors. It measures about four-metres-long, 1.5 metres wide and is just 1.5 metres tall.”

Billionaire sues repairer after Lamborghini bursts into flames

Billionaire sues repairer after Lamborghini bursts into flames

Remember about a year and a half ago when a rare, classic Lamborghini Miura SV went up in flames in London? Its owner sure does. And he’s not willing to write it off, pointing fingers squarely at the Lamborghini dealership in London for causing the fire.

It may seem like a difficult case to make, especially since the Miura was not in the dealership’s possession when the fire erupted – the owner’s son was driving it, but he was driving it home from the dealer where it had been brought in for service.

According to the suit filed by the vehicle’s owner, billionaire property agent Jon Hunt, the mechanics at the dealership owned by high-end automotive group H.R. Owen must have improperly fitted the spark plugs during the Miura’s service. Lamborghini’s official dealership should have known better, says Mr. Hunt.

That’s why Hunt is suing the dealership to the tune of £700,000, equivalent to over $1 million at today’s rates, plus storage costs and “loss of enjoyment.” The vehicle – one of only 764 made – was evaluated at £900,000, but Hunt’s suit deducts the £200,000 it was worth as scrap.

We’ve included footage of the fire below, but it’s not for the weak of heart when it comes to watching an irreplaceable classic supercar burning to the ground…

In 2025, what will large trucks look like? To answer that question, Mercedes-Benz has created its Future Truck 2025 study to provide a glimpse of the shape of things to come in the trucking industry.

Mercedes-Benz believes that in ten years’ time, trucks could be driving autonomously on highways with fuel efficiency set to improve tremendously alongside reductions in emissions.

In terms of design, the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 study combines function, efficiency and emotion in a fascinating way. As a result, it is unlike any other truck on the market.

It incorporates flowing and curved surfaces while also including a completely new lighting design. When the driver is behind the wheel and in control of the truck, the headlights and front grille are illuminated white while when in autonomous driving mode, these lights change to blue.

The interior of the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 study is similarly minimalist. It adopts a flowing wood panel design across the floor and passenger side of the dashboard. Gone are traditional truck controls and in their place are touchscreen displays.

Gran Turismo 6 vs Real Life

Gran Turismo 6 vs Real Life

Do you remember when Nissan launched its GT Academy back in 2008? If not, the idea was to find professional racers from a computer game. Gaming enthusiasts all over the world submitted their times on a unique race track on Gran Turismo 5, then the fastest 22 were invited to Silverstone to compete for a chance to race professional for Nissan.

Great, now that you’re ‘up to speed’ (sorry) here’s what’s happened since then…

Nissan’s GT Academy has become a genuine recruiting tool for the world of motorsport. This back door into racing is ever popular with gaming hopefuls. However there is still a huge gap between playing the game and racing a real car.

Above all else, the largest difference is fear. As you can imagine squeezing the ‘X’ button and holding full throttle in Gran Turismo is a lot easier than keeping your foot flat to the floor in a real car travelling at 100mph plus. Keeping committed to a corner in a game is easy, but in real life, you know a mistake will hurt.

Also in Gran Turismo a gear change is as quick as tapping a button – but in real life, every gear shift will lose you time. You are also usually slower to react on the brakes and accelerator, as well as being incredibly heavy-handed with the steering, as demonstrated in this video:
